This full-day professional development session will focus on understanding the principles of Dialectical Behavior Therapy and its application in the school setting with two school psychologists from Cognitive & Behavior Consultants in New York. Attendees will learn the benefits of DBT and will be able to begin applying counseling interventions in their practice with students.
NASP President Ms. Shawna Rader Kelly will provide opening remarks focused on how school psychologists can respond to challenges, find strength through connection, and lead today to ensure that others realize a better, brighter tomorrow. Shawna has been a practicing school psychologist for over 20 years in Bozeman, Montana.
Note: Registration begins at 8:00 am and the session will begin at 8:30 am.
Lunch will be on your own. There are lunch options on the Fairfield University campus and their are also dining options a few minutes away in the town of Fairfield.
