Prevention is Key: Using Childhood Mental Health and Small Group Interventions to unlock student potential

Featuring: Dr. Lisa Kelly-Vance, NASP President

Lisa Kelly-Vance, Ph.D., began her career as a School Psychologist in Council Bluffs, Iowa serving children birth through 21 and leading the early RTI initiatives. She is a Professor of School Psychology at the University of Nebraska at Omaha and serves as the Program Director. Her research and applied interests are assessment and interventions with preschool children in the context of play, mental health in early childhood, school-based academic and social interventions, prevention, and self-care. She is the current President of the National Association of School Psychologists and her theme is “Unlock Potential: Prevention is Key.”

*The target audience for this presentation is School Psychologists, School Social Workers, and School Counselors working in the PK-8th grade*

Take EXIT 17 (CT-15 S/W Cross Pkwy) toward E Main St. Meriden)

Take EXIT 67 (the E Main Street exit) 

Turn right onto E Main St.

In less than a half mile, Turn left onto Paddock Ave. (at CVS Pharmacy)

In 3/4 mile Turn right onto Overlook Rd.

Thomas Hooker School is on your left a block up the street, on the left.

 

 

From I-91 North

Take EXIT 16, (E Main Street).

Keep left to take the East Main Street ramp.

Turn left onto E Main St. (go .42 mile)

In less than a half mile, Turn left onto Paddock Ave. (at CVS Pharmacy)

In 3/4 mile Turn right onto Overlook Rd.

Thomas Hooker School is on your left a block up the street, on the left.

 

 

From 15 Merritt/W. Cross Parkway CT-15 N

Take the exit for Conn DOT/Maintenance Facility. There is no exit number (it is past exit 66 Wallingford and before 67S Meriden).

At the bottom of the exit ramp Turn right onto Miller Ave
In a .10 of a mile Turn left onto Paddock Ave.

Take the 1st left onto Overlook Rd.

Thomas Hooker School is on your left a block up the street, on the left.
