2026 Xan Lopez Annual CASP School Psychologist In-Service

This year's full day event will include a morning and afternoon session, along with our Interns of the Year recognition for the 2025-2026 school year.

8:30 am - 11:00 am - - Morning Session
- Contemporary Psychological Principles for Understanding, Evaluating, and Treating Emotional Dysregulation - Presented by Christopher Brown, School Psychologist & Licensed Professional Counselor

Intense difficulties regulating emotions for students of all ages are the result of a complex interplay involving cognition, emotion, memory, and attention. Psychological research from specialty areas including developmental psychopathology, cognitive neuroscience, affective neuroscience, predictive processing, right-brain development, active inference, and personality development provides us with a richer understanding of how young people develop and fail to develop the capacity to regulate emotions. This workshop will explain the current research to inform the best ways to evaluate and provide supportive interventions for these students in the school setting.

11:00 am - 11:30 am - - Interns of the Year Award Ceremony
11:30 am - 12:30 pm - - Lunch on your own

National School Psychology Week- November 9-13 (09 Nov 2026)

Mon, 09 Nov 2026 05:00:00 GMT

During the week of November 9-13, the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) and schools across the United States will celebrate the 2026 National School Psychology Week (NSPW). This week celebrates the contributions of school psychologists and the important role they play in schools and communities. NSPW is an annual opportunity to recognize school psychologists' work to help children thrive in school, at home, and in life. This year's theme, "Inspire Connection," highlights how school psychologists build meaningful relationships that support students, strengthen collaboration, and transform school communities. Join us and explore how each person can celebrate the work of school psychologists and learn how school psychologists make a difference every day.
